The Slaughterhouse DCs of the Martian military fulfilled a role we haven't really seen in WWR. We've primarily seen front line units that are designed to fight on defined fronts and the occasional special forces/commando units designed to fight behind them. The Slaughterhouse DCs were a behind the line unit but unlike special forces their targets are not the opposing military. The Slaughterhouse DCs targets were civilians. They were a weapon of terror.
Martians would seed the Slaughterhouse DCs (probably by air drop) behind enemy lines. When their sensors would detect a lack of light they would crawl out from their cover and begin to kill anything they could get their meat cleavers on. Men, women, children, or dogs, they didn't discriminate.
The colors of the Slaughterhouse units were silver, blue, and red. Decals were colored blue, white, red, and black.
It's interesting to note the overall color pattern of the Slaughterhouse units. They weren't really designed to blend in. Their colors were vibrant and hardly subtle. This is a big departure found on other Martian units that took advantage of various camouflage patterns.
With the units overall role it's safe to assume that subtly or blending in wasn't the goal. It seems the goal was to make sure you remember this bot and what it had done

Note the SH6 on the chest. |
SH6 is the most prominent being found on the DCs chest and back of its drop cloth. The initials stand for Slaughterhouse 6.
Note the 6 on the head and left shoulder (our right). |
Slaughterhouse Six is a tip of the hat to Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut.
Sayings
Note first blood on the forearm. |
First blood could also be another literary connection like Slaughterhouse-Five. There was First Blood written by David Morrell and was later adapted into a film in 1982. It should be noted that Slaughterhouse-Five was also adapted into a film. So they could either be references to the novels, films, or both.
Timeline wise both the movies and novels would be present in WWR. However, they might just be real references to our own world.
